IgniteData receive part of £40m boost for cutting-edge start-ups

[READING, UNITED KINGDOM, 22 May 2020]. IGNITE DATA, are set to benefit from a £40 million government investment to drive forward new technological advances.

  • £40 million of government funding to support the UK’s next generation of innovative businesses.
  • IGNITE DATA’s virtual research automation platform ‘Archer’ to benefit from the funding.
  • Funding comes from a £211 million government investment package to encourage businesses developing new technologies.

IGNITE DATA’s new ‘Archer’ platform is set to benefit from a £40 million government investment to drive forward new technological advances.

The funding aims to fast-track the development of innovations borne out of the coronavirus crisis while supporting the UK’s next generation of cutting-edge start-ups – helping to build the businesses of tomorrow and propel their future prosperity.

‘Archer’ is ground-breaking software to prepopulate clinical research databases (EDC) directly from medical records (EHR), thereby speeding up clinical studies and reducing the need for expensive onsite monitoring.

The project will change the way study data is collected by automating some of the 13-69% of data it is estimated could have been prepopulated straight from patient medical records, but currently isn’t.

Dan Hydes, CEO, IGNITE DATA:

“We are privileged to be one of the lucky few highly innovative businesses in the UK to have our product recognised as having a truly significant impact on society during this COVID-19 crisis. ‘Archer’ is already creating excitement in the research community and with this backing there is no doubt we can achieve great things for the UK economy”

Richard Yeatman, CTO, IGNITE DATA:

“With this additional government funding we now have the ability to integrate with more UK NHS Electronic Patient Records (EPR) much faster – this will have a real tangible impact on research. Through the suffering our nation has endured in recent months, with this support, we know the innovators of our country will meet the challenges of tomorrow”
